One of the best games of all time is back in stock. Become the top merchant in Puerto Rico by building plantations and selling commodities, buying buildings and recruiting new workers.
Puerto Rico's design by Andreas Seyfarth has been massively influential on many modern boardgames. Controversial in its day because it was pipped to the Spiel des Jahres by Villa Paletti. Controversial today because its colonial exploitation theme doesn't sit well with modern sensibilities. We know that those workers we are recruiting are actually slaves.
This is still a fantastic game, and well worth anybody's time to seek out, play and own.
